About Caffe' Leonardo

The Torrefazione Caffè Leonardo is located a few minutes away from the centre of Vinci (Florence, Tuscany), the town where Leonardo da Vinci was born, and has been in business since 1963.

It is an artisan company linked to ancient traditions and supported by a young and dynamic staff. Its excellent reputation comes from the high professionalism and quality of the blends produced

Thanks to the great experience handed down from generation to generation, the technicians personally supervise the selection of the products. The adoption of natural techniques for production, air cooling and resting in silos ensure a final product that is cured in all its aspects.

The roasting system is completely handmade. Nothing is automated everything depends on the experience and passion of the roaster.

The right degree of roasting is a very important process: the coffee in fact undergoes physical-chemical transformations and thus forms the components responsible for aromas and flavour. With the artisan roasting, you get the most out of the various types of coffee, which is partly lost in the industrial plant.

The taste of coffee, the characteristics of the drink, its body, its degree of acidity depend on the transformation process. The experience gained in this sector has allowed the company to develop specific roasting and mixing processes unique in terms of body, sweetness and fragrance.
